Diane von Furstenberg‘s SS12 campaign, photographed by Camilla Akrans, lets us be the woman in the campaign. By presenting us with a model with a mirror for a face, she allows us to ‘fill in the blank’ and put ourselves in the picture.

The surrealist campaign was inspired by von Furstenberg’s love for Salvador Dalí‘s art:
Von Furstenberg partied with Dalí in the ‘Seventies, and is a keen collector of his art.

The campaign already has its detractors but I think it’s great to see strong concepts within fashion advertising; and if those concepts cause us to analyse, think and discuss…well then even better.
